An uncommon level of experience with rent controlled apartments
In 2002 I purchased a 4 unit apartment in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles that my family still owns. Our first tenant still lives at the property with favorable rent (under $600/mo) and I’ve continued to own rental property in Los Angeles where rent control laws were established in 1979 and were the most restrictive in the state prior to Pasadena passing Measure H in 2022. I understand the emotional toll of trying to figure out how to navigate increasingly complex rules, handling repairs, overcoming financial hardships and working with tenants towards positive outcomes. I have an extensive level of experience handling smaller properties, navigating sales of tenant occupied properties and working through the options available to property owners in a complex legal environment.
